Ok, Todays post is all gonna be like a review of the WORLD CUP 2006, Based on MYopinion.
Ok, Biggest disappointment for this world cup- Brazil,Seleção. Though Im a huge huge fan of the Seleção, I wont deny the fact that Brazil in particular during this world cup is POOR! From the start to end, From the first game against croatia to their last against France, they look lack-lustre. =(( Arrogance cause to much for them, Parreira stick with the magical-quartet even though they are not playing well at all. Parreira the main person to blame? Perhaps, being the coach, he should have done what was neccessary, and that was to remove the star yet under-performing players for another better one. Brazil this year is POOR POOR POOR! I'm really disappointed with Brazil. Like what Pele said,he hoped their(Brazil) exit in the quarter-finals to bogey team France would act as a lesson for future campaigns for the five-time champions. SO BUCK UP BRAZIL! Prove to the world we're the best! SAMBA RULE FOOTBALL! =D
Biggest winner- Italy, Obviously, their hardwork pay off dividendly, Defending EXTREMELY well. And we could see many players working their socks off, the ever consistent captain marvellous, Fabio Cannavaro (In my point of view should have won the golden ball award.), Gennaro Gattuso, Gianluca Zambrotta and even Fabio Grosso did well. They defended well as usual, the italian way of football, they play the classic textbook style of defensive football, But in this world cup, we could see this italian side not afraid of pouring forward, playing attractive attacking football. FORZA ITALIA! Well done Italy, 4 stars on the crest, 1 behind the might Brazil.
Best newcomer- Ivory Coast, Côte d'Ivoire. Many will say Ghana will be a better side having to go through to the last 16. But to me, Ivory Coast left a better impression on me. See their first game against the mighty strong Argentina and you'll know what I mean. They're not afraid to go up at all, even against stronger side like argentina and holland, they play a very fast flowing style of football, very attractive, passing the ball around smoothly and swiftly, even at opponent penalty area they can do a 1-2 pass with ease. They are definately a team to look out for in the future, for sure. A lack of exprience cause them greatly in this world cup. But they have plenty reason to look forward to into the future, They have a relatively young squad, and they will still probably be the same team in 4 years time if they do qualify, and perhaps being one of the most exciting and adventurous team in the group stage of this world cup, Experience is all they need, and they have got it, so the future looks bright for them. So cheers to Ivory Coast!
Best Goal - Argentina vs Serbia & Montenegro,Esteban Cambiasso. WONDERGOALD! 24 pass super goal, nice build up from the start and a perfect finish to it. wonder goal, the best goal in my point of view.
Best Player - Fabio Cannavaro,Italy. Yes, its not Zinedine Zidane, Zizou, its the rock at the heart of Italian defense, Fabio Cannavaro. CONSISTENT is how I describe him, the BEST defender in this years world cup. Rock steady, consistent, and a true leader on the pitch. Cannavaro, perhaps or indeed the smallest centerback in this year world cup at just 175cm tall, makes up all the disadvantage with his powerful jumps to win headers. Rock hard in defending, never commit to stupid mistakes, reads the game wonderfully. Fabio Cannavaro! My best player in this year world cup! =D
Best Goalkeeper- Gianluigi Buffon The world most expensive Goalkeeper. Concede 2 goals in the whole tournament, some more its an own goal and penalty. Consistent, safe hands. Everyone is saying how petr cech is good and stuff, now take a look at Buffon and you'll think twice when you say Cech is the best keeper in the world. All hail BUFFON! lol!
